Satellite TV Software Brings TV From Around The World To Your PC

Did you know that you can watch TV on your computer? I'm not talking about YouTube, or going on the homepage of VH1 to watch deleted clips. I'm talking about using satellite TV software to watch TV on your computer screen and getting thousands of television channels available on your computer via your internet connection. Whether you are just sick of watching the same old reruns over and over on TV, think your cable company is trying to take over the world (and charging you way too much in doing so), or fed up with a satellite signal that falls out every time it rains, satellite TV software could be an alternative worthy of your consideration. First the downside: despite what some over-zealous advertisers may try to tell you, the quality of satellite TV on the computer is not normally as good as using a dedicated satellite dish and large-screen television. This is not to say the quality is bad -- just that a satellite dish and quality TV would usually give you higher definition. The quality of the signal will also depend upon the speed of your Internet connection, so you will definitely need to have a high-speed broadband connection to get the most out of the software. On the plus side, satellite TV software is relatively inexpensive and provides access to thousands of channels. So it's a trade-off that many people are willing to make. I personally appreciate all the international channels available because I have lived all over the world and the software allows me to watch foreign TV shows and sporting events that my local cable provider doesn't carry. I used to pay hundreds of dollars a year to receive fewer than one hundred basic cable channels. I also didn't get to choose which channels I wanted, so there were probably only a handful of channels that I actually watched on a weekly basis. But with satellite TV software, there are thousands of channels available; making it more likely that you can find something you're interested in watching. It was always so disappointing to come home and turn on my favorite channel only to find that they were showing re-runs that I already watched several times last week. With satellite TV software, this is not such a big issue, because if there's nothing on my favorite channels; there are thousands of others to choose from. I just flip through the "TV guide channel" until I find something I want to watch. I still watch some of the same channels I have always watched, only now I don't pay a monthly fee to do so, and I can also watch my favorite channels in the UK and France. When I go away, I don't have to try to figure out where my TV channels are in a different area, and I never have to get upset because the cable provider where I am doesn't carry my favorite show. So how does the software work? Basically, you just buy the software and download it to your desktop or notebook computer. Once you've completed the steps of the installation, you are ready to watch television on your computer. There is a one-time purchase fee and no monthly fees. And of course, you don't need any special hardware -- any Windows PC with a broadband Internet connection should work fine. One interesting feature of satellite TV software is its portability. You can travel anywhere in the world and, in theory, still have access the same TV channels you watch at home. All that is needed is a fast internet connection and a laptop computer.

Portable Satellite TV Units - What They Are and Where to Get Them at the Best Price

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to watch satellite TV wherever you go? Well now you can. DIRECTV and DISH Network both offer portable satellite TV systems.

DIRECTV Portable Satellite TV

DIRECTV'S portable satellite unit, known as Sat-Go resembles a large, 27 pound laptop computer. It's a complete satellite TV system with a 17-inch monitor, satellite dish, receiver, rechargeable battery, and AC/DC adapters for your car. All you do is plug it in, line up the antenna, and you're in business.

With Sat-Go you can get satellite TV while you're away from home RVing , camping, or on a road trip. And you can keep track of all the football games on NFL Sunday Ticket while tailgating at your favorite team's stadium.

The complete Sat-Go system can be purchased for less than $1,000 at electronic stores like Best Buy, or online stores like ABT Electronics (abtelectronics.com).

DISH Network Portable Satellite TV

DISH Network's portable system, the PocketDish, isn't really a satellite TV system. It's a portable media recorder/player that can download programs from any of DISH Network's 350 channels. It can also download content from your computer, DVD player, MP3 player, or video recorder. A one-hour program on DISH Network can be downloaded into the PocketDish in about five minutes. Who says you can't take it with you.

The PocketDish AV402E has a 2.2-inch screen, weighs less than 7 ounces and fits in your pocket. It's 20GB storage capacity lets you store up to to 10,000 songs, 40 movies, or 20 hours of TV programming. The PocketDish AV500E has a 4-inch screen and a 30 GB storage capacity. There's even an AV700 model with a 40 GB capacity.

With the PocketDish you get a remote control, a docking station, and cables to connect to your TV or other electronic devices. You also get a rechargeable battery that gives you up to 4 hours of video playback and up to 15 hours of audio playback.

The last time I checked, PocketDish's were out of stock at most stores, but you can get refurbished models for $300 at online electronics stores like Satellite One (satelliteone.com).

About Viewsat receivers

By: Clint Jhonson

Just like other FTA receivers brands, Viewsat is right at the top. It’s also been around for several years, thus the provided technical support is great. The beautiful part is that by owning one, you can view up to thousands of channels from around the world with no necessity of paying a monthly fee, so it all really pays off in the long term, especially for those who enjoy quality TV. Also, Viewsat files are successfully supported with up to two weeks before the support other FTA receiver companies can provide.

Viewsat receivers can appear to be less user friendly than others at first glance, but soon enough you’ll find out that they are extremely stable. The remote control may, indeed, appear to be a bit strange, especially when you first take it in your hand. But provided you invest a little bit of time and patience into learning about its use, you won’t even notice this microscopic drawback soon. As said before, the tech support is of the highest quality; plus, company programmers make updated Viewsat files available worldwide weeks before the programmers from other FTA producing firms.

Just like other receivers, a serial cable is all that’s needed to update Viewsat files. However, some models do have a USB port so you only need a memory stick to apply updates at any time. Out of all the FTA receivers available, Viewsat probably offers the best value for money ratio. Although absolutely all versions offer the ability to control display extremely easily, some even allow you to play MP3s. Although this is obviously not an essential feature, you never really know when it may come in handy.

Some newer Viewsat models have been subjects to a special design which allows them to get connected to HD satellites. Basically, this means that they can receive a multitude of HD channels, obviously with no service fees or other included costs. Also, Viewsat files are widely available on online forums, together with the most recent keys, instructions, both written and in videos, as well as tutorials.

Statistically speaking, the first two best selling FTA receiver models are both Viewsat. That’s just another way of saying you simply can’t go wrong by purchasing one, since so many customers out there are so satisfied with its performance and available features.

Author Resource:-> Viewsat free to air receivers are the best selling receivers, out of all available brands. Viewsat files are permanently updated and made available by programmers, so that all users can have the best possible viewing experience. We want you to take full advantage of the new technology and this is why we invite you to pay us a visit!

FTA receiver: your gateway to unlimited access to your favorite TV channels

Have you ever had one of those days when your boss yelled at you for no reason at all, your mother in law called up and your kid brother got busted for overdoing the speed limit? At the end of the day all you want to do is put your feet and rest your head awhile before you turn n the TV in the express hope that you might not have to mull over your own problems if you could just escape into the comforting realms of the TV world.

So with all those great intentions in mind you turn on the TV and you finally find out that your fabulous day isn’t over yet. All you had to do is switch on the TV and you find that instead of a good movie your TV screen is spewing out static and noise, a result of the storm that was brewing in the night.

It’s at times like this that you begin to seriously contemplate suicide. Have no fear, free to air is here. What exactly is free to air and how do you intend to get it? Well free to air is basically a technology that allows you to access the world’s leading TV channels for free without having to pay for anything except the receiver set and the free to air paraphernalia that is a one time investment that usually does not exceed 50 dollars.

I’m sure that by now you want to know more about the FTA receiver and how you can get one. All in good time my friend. Let’s take one thing at a time.

A free to air receiver is something like a radio set. By tuning a radio either electronically or manually to the right frequency you can listen to the best radio stations that are available. You don’t have to pay for the radio channels and all you need to do is buy a radio.

Similarly the free to air receiver functions in much the same way. The free to air receiver is basically a satellite transmissions receiver that is programmed to receive all the unencrypted or unscrambled free to air satellite transmissions. It is usually able to decode the MPEG-2 compression protocol.

However one limitation that a free to air satellite receiver suffers from is that there are certain brands that are unable to decode the satellite transmissions of the Dish network and the DirecTV Satellite programming. To ensure that you don’t end up with a receiver of this kind always go in for the Viewsat or Coolsat receiver.

Usually a FTA receiver looks like a Dish Network or DirecTV receiver. Usually they can only be used with a TV set and not with a computer. Some versions do exist that can be used which are usually compatible only with a computer but such sets are only useful when you don’t have a TV set.

Whatever you decide Viewsat and Coolsat are the bets options and you should for either one of them. They offer the most features and back up support at the right prices.

Free to air Satellite: Your gateway to a world of entertainment for free

There are very few people in this world who claim that they really don’t care about money. And all of them are either rich or liars or both. Having seen the best of every thing in life they are in a position to make blanket statements and they don’t really have the ability to discern the right from the wrong.

People like you and me bother a lot about what to do and how to do it. We have the in built notion that money is at the center of the universe and it is the most precious resource that needs to be conserved and this is something that one needs to know before one gets into any venture.

When you think of entertainment the same money concept comes into play and you always look for options that will enable you to get the most out of life without paying through your nose.

What often happens is that you end up paying through your nose and you don’t have the ability to control things. You opt for cable network that charges you a monthly fee that is exorbitant to say the least and later you find out that all the good stuff is on another cable network and you are not going to get that while the present one is running. So you decide to switch loyalties only to discover that now all the good stuff is on the other one and you have just switched from that one as well. So what do you do?

Have no fear. Free to air is here. Free to air satellite is the future of cable TV networks that will enable you to receive all the good stuff on cable TV all the time irrespective of the network that you are using. In fact with the free to air satellites you won’t need to have a network. Just free to air will suffice.

A Free to Air satellite is basically a satellite that is able to transmit satellite signals which a person can receive legally for free. This means that without having any subscription and without paying the exorbitant fees you get all the satellite channels that you want for free. Although the free to air satellite transmission is not encrypted, it is typically encoded for MPEG-2 video and may have geographical restrictions.

In many parts of the world encrypted Free to Air satellite channels are also available on different technologies like UHF and VHF frequency bands. But by and large the free to air satellite programming is broadcast on the Ku band.

Another benefit that free to air satellites offer is that they give you the facility of smaller dishes and these consume less power thereby giving you the mental satisfaction of having left a smaller carbon footprint on the world.

In order to enjoy Free to air satellite Reception all that you need is a few simple things like:-

A satellite dish antenna
A FTA receiver or satellite PC card
An LNBF
An antenna motor (If you wish to receive channels from more than one satellite)

That’s all you need. So get to work and get set to enjoy the world’s channels for free!

Mac or Macintosh is a brand name for different kinds of computer produced by Apple, Inc. Production of Mac includes all aspects of hardware and own operating system already installed. The Mac is a computer that can run all the major operating systems, including Mac OS X, Windows XP, and Vista.

TV on a PC is in nowadays. How about TV on a Mac?

Widgets are mini-applications that are downloaded and installed to a dashboard for a new function. There are amazing widgets for Mac that will allow us to play TV right on our Mac. There is this viewmy.tv widget that provides access to free Internet television. Besides viewmy.tv, there is also the Ustream.tv for viewing our favorite live stream channels. Before we can download these features, we should first check the system requirements. If we have what are needed to make this application works, we can enjoy watching our favorite shows directly on our Mac.

As we all know, we can’t depend on our Internet connection all the time. Heavy traffic is frequently experienced so we can’t enjoy our favorite show that much. Aside from widgets, we can enjoy the entertainment of watching TV on our Mac with the help of USB-based tuners like Elgato EyeTV Hybrid that allows us to watch analog and digital TV. Like other common pc, Mac also has its way to have TV on it.

If external devices (USB like EyeTV) do not satisfy us, we can use the PCTV cards like Miglia AlchemyTV Card that is a good choice for computer TV viewing and VHS-to-DVD transferring. It’s a PCI card that requires no additional power supply. We can check miglia.com to check if we have the latest version. After that, set up the PCI card in our Mac, and then install the software using the cd included. To access the newly installed program, we need to restart our Macs and go to the AlchemyTV dialog.

Miglia also offers a TV Micro unit that comes with the unit itself, a cable as connection, an external USB 2.0 extender, a remote control and an Elgato EyeTV 2.

Slingbox is also a good choice. It works not only for common PC but for Macs as well. It has ports for TV input and for Ethernet. Another one is the iTele, which is a Mac application that allows us to watch TV and record a channel we want.

When we are familiar of iTunes, we’ll know Mac. We can go to the iTunes Store to browse different shows and channels. We can have our favorite shows in advance. We can watch an episode before it will be aired or have a copy of the one we missed. We can watch all of this in Mac.These are only some of the ways on how we can have TV on our Macs. More are coming our way, thanks to the advanced technology.

The Only Legal System To Watch Free satellite TV

I used to trust free satellite TV as one of the internet cons. But having discovered substantiation to the contrary, with a “specification”, this article wants to shine light on the phenomenon wrongly known as free satellite TV, and also point you towards how you can justifiably get to link up free satellite TV on your PC or Laptop without the usual onerous monthly subscriptions.

You may have been wondering how true it is that sites are offering free satellite TV. Or you may be trying to locate information to enable you watch free satellite TV on your computer. You will learn here how free and qualitative the so called free satellite TV is and how to truly access thousands of free satellite channels with your PC or Laptop without additional charges.

Before now there were two main ways that people referred to as Free Satellite TV:

1. Both DirecTV and Dish network have for some time now been making use of free equipment and installation offer to lure clients to their networks. This is how: When you subscribe you are given free equipment and setup without charges. But afterwards you pay monthly service charges for your needful package. This is in spite of the 3-5 rooms free equipment setup bonus.

2. The other method is to sign up with pirate sites that program Dtv or Dishnet cards that enable people to get all channels, but you will get hit from time to time. And each time they charge you for reprogramming your pirate card which you use in the receiver equipment you bought by yourself. The disruptions you will experience will make this option very unprofitable in the long run.

However, there is a legitimate way to officially hook up to thousands of satellite TV channels and radio stations in this world on your PC or Laptop free of monthly subscription fess, by acquiring Satellite TV for PC software from Satellitesoft.

Even if you make a one time small payment for the software, it will give you the prospect of registration with all the satellite TV providers, and also sign you in, each time you use the software with your PC and broadband internet connection.

Satellite TV Provides HDTV Channels

There are several different things that you can do in order to get the best picture possible when it comes to home entertainment. The first thing that most people will think to do is to get an HDTV set. While this is a positive step in the quest for a better TV picture, the purchase of an HDTV set alone won't provide a better TV image. In fact, without taking the necessary steps to ensure that a new HDTV set is able to function optimally, it may actually give you a worse picture than you're used to. The reason for this is that HDTV is a television format rather than a type of TV set, and the HDTV set is simply the device that's needed in order to view that TV format. While an HDTV set can display normal TV content, the resulting picture may not look as good as it does on a normal TV set. That's because of the way that an HDTV set is able to display a higher quality picture. An HDTV screen is made up of a lot more individual pixels so that more detail can be packed into each frame. Normal TV programming doesn't provide the instructions of what to do with all of those extra pixels, so they remain unused and the result is a grainy low resolution picture. In all fairness though, this result will be much more apparent on a larger HDTV screen than it is on a smaller one simply because a larger HDTV screen makes it easier to see any kind of defect in the picture.

While knowing the reason why normal TV doesn't look as good on an HDTV screen may be enlightening, you're probably wondering what you can do in order to remedy the situation. The solution is actually fairly simple and goes back to the fact that HDTV is a new TV format. In other words, you need programming in HDTV format in order to get the high quality picture that your HDTV set is capable of. You can get HDTV programming in any way that you can get normal TV programming- over the air, cable TV, satellite TV, off of an optical disc, or downloaded from the Internet. Out of all of these options though, satellite TV is the best for delivering HDTV.

First of all, HDTV is extremely data intensive to transmit, so it requires a lot of bandwidth. Satellite TV technology has a surplus of bandwidth, which makes it ideal for transmitting lots of HDTV channels. Satellite TV providers such as Directv have taken advantage of this fact by providing a plethora of HDTV channels to their subscribers. It also provides the specialized receiver equipment necessary to process an HDTV signal.

While HDTV is available from other sources, the high bandwidth requirements exaggerate the problems of those other mediums. For example, there aren't many normal TV channels available over the air, and there are even fewer HDTV channels. Normal TV takes forever to download from the Internet and HDTV takes even longer. Cable TV has severe bandwidth limitations, and HDTV channels use up that limited bandwidth even faster.

Hopefully, this article will set you on the road towards getting a TV picture that's truly better.
